After hearing for years about the X360/PS3 versions 'spaghetti code' and the only modern way to play it being the Xbox's backwards compatibility, I'd pretty much given up ever seeing this game get a port of any kind, let alone on a Nintendo system I'm so glad they did because it delivered what is imo the definitive console versions of some of the best games ever made
It's no secret that Valve doesn't do a lot of game development these days (Half-Life Alyx feels very much like an outlier) and then especially with the Steam Deck being a thing, I just really didn't anticipate them ever porting the Portal games to Switch. Nintendo's always been kinda reluctant to revisit 3D Mario games to the same degree they do things like Zelda or 2D Mario, and with Sunshine being very much the red-headed stepchild of the series, I would never in a hundred years have guessed back in 2017 that Switch would see an actual rerelease of this one I was pretty firmly in the 'reworking the controls would be too much effort for a not-that-beloved game' camp
